I couldn’t have started off my new year in any better way than the WONDERFUL opportunity of capturing some portraits for the Mosaic Home. The Mosaic home is an adult foster home owned by Tricia Bastian. Tricia and her staff care for three gentlemen whom have been together for almost 20 years! Next month, March, they will have been open for one year. Congratulations!!
To commemorate their new home, the men were super excited about having their portraits taken with everyone that helps them out day to day.
I can’t thank Tricia enough for this opportunity. My heart is so happy that they have some wonderful images capturing each of their personalities.
A final thank you and BRAVO to the entire group as it was at least 30 below windchill for the outdoor photo. BRRRR….
Professional handshake… say what? Let me explain. What I’m really referring to are professional business portraits. If you are a business professional offering any type of service or product, do you have a picture of yourself on your website or social media page? If so, what exactly does that image of you look like? It is an image that someone quick snapped with a cell phone, or yikes… a selfie? If so, have you ever thought about the message that image portrays?
When I’m checking out businesses for my needs and come across a picture that has bad lighting, and/or bad posing, my first thought is that they must not be very serious, so I move on. Have you done the same? On the flip side, what do you think when you see a professional image? For me, my believability and trust in them significantly increases, and therefore I will more than likely contact them to inquire or just buy from them right away.
So let’s get back to this professional handshake post title. We are the digital age, we have social media that is picture driven and whether you like it or not, it’s not going away. If you are offering a product or service, I’m sure you don’t want to send the wrong message to a prospective client that you didn’t care enough to have a professional portrait, right? Finding customers is a tough business in itself, so why wouldn’t you want to put the best image of you out there. Your image is your first impression and also a warm welcoming handshake to your business. It’s up to you how you want to leave your first impression.
Studio 64 Photography offers over 12 years of education and experience to ensure that you LOVE your portrait! Studio sessions are offered year- around, so don’t wait until it’s summer and you are too busy. Sessions take less than 30 minutes you’ll have your new image in less than 48 hours.
Future post Part 2 will be covering my most asked question… What to Wear?
Like years past, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Minnesota School held their Prom dinner and dance at Hiawatha Beach Resort on Leech Lake. This time of year comes with so much unpredictability weather-wise, but not this year, it was perfect and sunny! Hiawatha Beach Resort boasts a wide expansive view of Leech Lake and if you ask me, it’s one of the best beaches in northern Minnesota. Another great aspect the prom goers can enjoy is dinner from the dining room facing Leech Lake. But before dinner begins, for those who want a professional image capturing this once in a lifetime event, I’m on standby to capture their images outside on the beach. Here are the prom goers that took advantage of this option. Don’t mind the ice and snow covered lake in the background, it’s Minnesota, that sometimes happens in April.
Weather Forecast…..3-5 inches of snow. Not really sure.. I think it was they really meant. We got at least 7 inches at my house (no official measuring device used, just how far down my foot hid in the new white stuff). LOL. Needless to say, I’m ready for spring, flowers and thunderstorms. I honestly didn’t want to go outside today, but when there was a lull in the storm, I grabbed my camera, walked outside and wow!!! I was awestruck! Can you say Winter Wonderful. You know how it’s hard to capture the scene sometime, hopefully you can imagine. Believe it or not, it was mild, but I did have snow pants, and a parka on.. 🙂 Could’ve and should’ve sat outside in a lawn chair… well, maybe next time!
These are taken here at my “property”, my little studio outdoor oasis.
